Mobile Boy Scouts plan Centennial celebrations in November
All year, the Boy Scouts of America have celebrated the organization 100th anniversary. Swarovski Crystals In November, the Mobile Area Council will commemorate the milestone with a Centenn Swarovski Crystals ial Jubilee.
BankTrust is the presenting sponsor for the event, which will take place at the USS Battleship Memorial Park on Nov. 19 21.

The jubilee event will include various vendor exhibits, low rope activities, a rock climbing wall, an archery range and a tank for scuba and snorkeling.
Everett said cub scouts will have the opportunity to earn 11 different belt loops and boy scouts can work toward earning the 100th anniversary historic merit badges.
Event speakers include Mark Foley, president of the University of Mobile, who will address sponsors and special guests at Saturday VIP luncheon. Saturday evening, deputy chief scout executive Wayne Brock is slated to speak.
That night, there will also be an Eagle Scout reception open to all area young men who have obtained that rank. Festivities will conclude with a firework show.
Other November activities include a reception Swarovski Crystals and dinner on Nov. 4 to honor former mayor Mike Dow and Hazel Fournier, who will receive the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service award for their contributions to the Boy Scouts organization.
According to Hall, Dow and Fournier were chosen their long lasting and tireless efforts to give every boy the opportunity to experience scouting regardless of their economic, social, and geographic background. are required for the banquet and some Jubilee events. RSVP to Lana James at 251 476 4600.
Also, the Scouts will begin the for Food Drive this month. Grocery bags will be distributed Nov. 6. On Nov. 13, the scouts will retrieve the filled bags and return them to participating Greer grocery stores.
